Owner history, Owners manuals

The Continental Mark IV was one of Lincoln/Mercurys greatest successes in the early to mid seventies. This 1973 is a personal luxury car that has withstood the test of time. It is a straight, solid, un-molested and well preserved original example. Meticulously maintained and pampered by its previous 2 owners all of its life, this 32,000 original mile luxury cruiser will not disappoint. Its original Black Exterior is in exceptional condition and is complimented by a like new Black Vinyl Roof, Painted Silver Pinstripes and those classic Rear Opera Windows. The original Black Leather Interior is equally as nice. The leather front and rear seats, headliner, door panels, carpet and dash are all in great condition. This Mark IV came from the factory with nearly every option and every one of those factory options functions as it did when it left the showroom including the Air Conditioning. Options include: Driver and Passenger 6way Power Reclining Split Bench Seat, Power Windows, Power Locks, Left and Right Remote Sideview Mirrors, Tilt, Cruise, Rear Defroster, Glove box mounted Remote Trunk Release, Trip Odometer, Front and Rear Map and Reading Lights and a 4 Speaker AM/FM Stereo Radio with Power Antenna. The undercarriage has also been cleaned and detailed; it shows quite well and is perfect for driving. The engine compartment has been cleaned but not restored and features the original drivetrain which includes the 460cui V8 with a 4bbl carb backed by a C6 three speed automatic transmission. The original jack and a new full-size spare tire are mounted in the trunk and the car rides on 4 like new radial tires accented by the original hub caps.

1973 was the second year for the Mark IV and only a few subtle changes were made to an already popular luxury automobile. They included re-standardized opera windows and the most visible difference was a new five-mph front bumper. Turn indicators were restyled to suit, and cornering lamps were now used. Among other technical changes in 1973 were more sound insulation, larger rear brakes, improved front disc brakes, bigger tires and a side-terminal battery. The 1973 Mark IV attracted 69,437 orders, nearly 8000 more than that year's Eldorados.

This 1973 Lincoln Mark IV looks, runs and drives like new. Open one of the huge 44 doors and enter the lap of luxury. You immediately sink into a plush leather seat and stare out over what seems to be an endless front hood that finishes off with the notable and easily recognizable Lincoln front grill. Turn the key and the big 460 V8 fires right up and idles smoothly. As you take off from a standing start, you notice how effortlessly the transmission shifts thru its gears and that unmistakable big car feel of riding on a cloud.

This incredible survivor has just been thru a through TLD inspection, service and detail and is now ready for a new home.
