1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. This ’60 Cadillac is finished in platinum with a blue leather interior/convertible top and is in magnificent highly original condition. With just 64k miles shown (believed to be original), the body is exceptionally solid and straight, and the paint is in great condition with good chrome all around. The interior has recently received a lot of attention. A complete new and correct leather interior has just been installed, as has gorgeous new trunk trim. Opening the hood, the engine compartment is quite spectacular and in like new condition. This ’60 is equipped with the 390ci/325hp V8 and Hydromatic 4 Speed automatic transmission. 1959 and 1960 would be remembered as the high points of Cadillac’s Series 62 automobiles. Brand new styling was implemented to attract a new breed of American customers’ eyes. Large tailfins would be the center point of the new styling, but other aircraft inspired touches garnered attention as well. The twin bullet taillights of ’59 would be replaced with classier single vertical ovals for ’60 that extended naturally from the fins and quarter panel. Dual twin headlights marked the classic front end, and these cars are routinely cited as some of the best examples of the styling of the period.
