This beautifully Restored 55 Riviera finished in its original Temple Gray over Cadet Blue Two tone paint scheme. In the new sports-car lines of the 55 Roadmaster Sedan, the roomier Riviera had a lower profile and distinctive new front-to-rear styling. All of the exterior chrome and stainless on the car are in excellent condition. Gold-colored Roadmaster deck script and hood ornament along with gold-accented grille were added to distinguish Roadmaster and are all in very nice condition. The panoramic windshield, side and rear windows and bullet style tail lamp lenses are in “like new” condition. The interior is in very nice condition as well. During its restoration, any Items that could be left original for purities sake were left untouched. The Front and Rear Seats are firm and comfortable and their covers are in great condition. Luxury car amenities include the power seat option, power windows, a full set of gauges to monitor engine condition, Clock, AM Radio and a Trip Odometer. This Riviera came with Buicks Fireball 322 V8. In 1955 horsepower was increased to 236 with a compression ratio of 9.0 to 1. The “Nailhead” V8, as nicknamed by hot rodders, grew to be a venerable engine as Buick continued to use the valve design for the next ten years. A new variable-pitch Dynaflow transmission utilized the stator blades changing pitch under hard acceleration, which provided quicker off-the-line acceleration. Gasoline economy was also notably improved.
The Riviera was the top model in Buicks Roadmaster line and this restored Riviera Lives up to its historic past. Fully sorted out, it is as comfortable in modern day traffic as it is on a quiet county road. We have just completed a full TLD Detail inside and out and this Riviera is now ready for a new home.
