In 1931, automobile technology had been advancing at a vigorous pace. The venerable Ford Model A, which had been an immense success, was rapidly becoming outdated, and sales were declining. After much encouragement from his executives, Henry Ford grudgingly halted production of the Model A and began work on a new design. This would become the Model B, and later, the Ford V8. Until this time, the majority of 8 cylinder engines had been straight-8 configurations, and indeed the majority of cars overall had no more than 6 cylinders. Later, the 1932-1934 Ford Roadsters would become the basis of the hot-rod phenomenon that continues until this day. This fully restored showroom condition '34 Ford R/S Roadster is equipped with a Flathead V8 configured with Offenhauser heads and manifold as well as dual Stromberg 97s. Finished in Washington Blue with a Dark Red interior and Black soft top, this Roadster has received a high caliber rotisserie restoration.
