LaSalle, Cadillac's "junior" companion marque, debuted to critical acclaim in March 1927 with its masterful styling by Harley Earl, who established the first design studio at General Motors. A big factor in the LaSalle success formula was its incredible value, delivering Cadillac quality at a considerably lower price point. By the late 1930s, though, LaSalle's days were numbered, with less need for lower-priced companion lines as many competitors to GM's various automotive divisions were no longer in business. For 1939, the penultimate LaSalle model year, styling was handsomely  updated with a narrow, upright radiator grille flanked by flowing grille elements to each front-fender catwalk. Eight body styles were offered for 1939, helping sales of the stylish, yet sensible LaSalle lineup outsell the previous model year by more than 50 per cent.

Sporting a comprehensive restoration, this 1939 LaSalle Series 50 Coupe carries Fisher body style 39-5027 and looks great in its two-tone Gray and Silver paint over a Light Gray patterned cloth interior. Power is delivered by a LaSalle-specific, 322ci V-8 engine rated at 125bhp and paired with a synchromesh 3-speed manual transmission. Desirable features and accessories include a pair of occasional seats to the rear, plus an in-dash radio and loudspeaker, a dash-mounted clock, and under-dash Cadillac-scripted heater. Rightly enjoying Full Classic recognition and wide event eligibility from the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA), this 1939 LaSalle Series 50 Coupe offers an affordable and highly enjoyable entry point into classic car ownership and enjoyment for committed enthusiasts of America's finest, yet long lost, prewar marques.
