1941 Studebaker Champion Deluxe Tu-Tone Coupe, 39,900 miles a true survivor! Original factory two-tone green exterior with matching green wool interior - absolutely fantastic patina! Original in-line six cylinder with three speed synchromesh manual on the column and full factory instrumentation featuring amp.meter, oil pressure, temperature and fuel gauges. All interior hardware, knobs and controls are fully functional and look great. This beautiful lady is perfectly solid and absolutely rust free, having benefited from just two familys careful ownership since new. The well-received 1941 Studebakers featured Slip Streaming styling by noted designer Raymond Loewy, and promising technical advances. 41 Studebakers were both a joy to look at and to drive. Designed to compete with the low-priced three of Chevrolet, Ford, and Plymouth, the Champion series was an immediate hit. With its tapering stainless-steel belt line trim forming the border for a slim two-toned paint scheme, and chromed, die-cast waterfall grilles, these Loewy-styled cars had a sense of motion even when standing still. A chrome-plated ornament with an art-deco S graced the leading edge of the sharply tapered hood. The stylized taillights were long and narrow and blended into the body rather than being merely stuck on as in most other cars of the era. This absolutely adorable little coupe is remarkably solid and original. Its in-line, six-cylinder flathead runs smoother than a Singer sewing machine and is just as quiet. The three-speed synchromesh gearbox and clutch are nearly silent and shift smoothly. The doors, hood and deck-lid have perfect panel gaps and all close with the thunk of a bank vault door. Having been in the careful ownership of just two families since new, this gem from South Bend even has the original owners manual, keys, and glove-box cardboard maintenance card! This is truly a fine example of a hard-to-find model, predating the attack on Pearl Harbor by just a few months, after which virtually all domestic car production came to a halt for the duration of World War II. A solid, great running, great looking time machine, and the ideal classic for either the experienced collector or first-time classic car enthusiast. Pack a picnic, and head out into the country on a sunny day, and you can just about hear Tuxedo Junction or String of Pearls by Glenn Miller...
