The 1948 Buick Roadmaster is another late-40s convertible that owes its success in one way or another to the post-war buying frenzy surrounding the end of World War II. One of only 11,503 units produced in that year, this fully restored Victoria Maroon Roadmaster Convertible features a power Tan Canvas Convertible Top and a beautiful Maroon Leather Interior. Its lines flow gracefully from front to back and are accented by the original stainless and chrome, all of which are in great shape. The engine is a FireBall DynaFlash 320 cubic-inch, in-line straight eight with a power rating of 144hp backed by the famous Dynaflow Transmission, the first torque-converter equipped automatic transmission on an American-built car and a $244 option in that year. It is equipped with hydraulically operated push-button controls for the convertible top and windows as well as a power front bench seat. This was Buick's premium and best appointed model. Known for interior luxury and quiet operation, there are few other cars like this from this era. The sleek styling of these particular two-doors elicited an emotional response from the motoring community that surpassed the expectations of GM. They were built on Buick's longest wheelbase and shared its basic structure with the higher end Oldsmobile's. We have just completed a through TLD inspection along with a compete detail and it is ready for your next weekend road trip. Take a step back in time with this low mileage, trophy winning car that has benefited from a full ground-up restoration. This car runs and drives just as it did back in its day and provides you with the feel that only a Buick can offer. As the old tag line goes, Wouldnt you really rather own a Buick?
