Following up on the totally restyled 1963 Corvette Sting Ray, the lightly updated 1964 models maintained Corvettes growing sales momentum with production rising by 1,016 units. Carrying a basic retail price of $4,037, this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was factory-equipped with a wide array of desirable options over and above the Silver Blue paint finish and Black convertible top. Among them were an L75 300 HP 327 V-8 engine, Powerglide automatic transmission, C07 auxiliary hardtop, U69 AM/FM radio, G81 Positraction rear axle, N40 power steering, Soft Ray tinted glass and Whitewall tires. This Corvette is very rare as one of 1,988 examples factory-equipped with C60 air conditioning and one of just 806 produced with cast aluminum knock-off wheels.
Accompanied by its window sticker and NCRS Shipping Data Report, this Corvette was delivered new on October 23, 1963 to Chevy Chase Chevrolet in Bethesda, Maryland. The most recent owner purchased the Corvette during October 2014 and during his tenure, the vehicle was well maintained, confirmed by service records on file. Among the work performed, the front drum brakes were converted to discs and the working factory air conditioning was updated to modern R134 specification as well. In 2017 a set of four new steel-belted radial tires were fitted. In addition the seats were rebuilt and fitted with new leather covers.
