As the subject of the most successful new-vehicle launch of all time, Ford's wildly popular first-generation Mustang established the all-new "pony car" genre, quickly joined by competing entries from GM, AMC, and Chrysler. Initially available in hardtop coupe and convertible body styles, the Mustang was soon joined by the Fastback body style. A large share of the Mustang's stunning success was derived from the way it could be special-ordered with a long list of factory options to suit individual buyer preferences, ranging from a mild and economical 6-cylinder grocery getter to personal-luxury tourers and fast GT-style road cars. Enthusiasm for these historic, first-series cars remains stronger than ever, epitomized by members of the MCA (Mustang Club of America).

Featuring correct Code A Raven Black paint with the correct Trim Code 66 Black power convertible top and matching vinyl interior, this outstanding 1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible was built during September 1965 at Ford Motor Companys Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant and delivered new via Ford's Pittsburgh, PA District Sales Office. An exhilarating drive is provided by the Mustang's correct A-Code, 4-barrel 289 CI V-8 engine, factory-rated at 225 horsepower. A 4-speed manual transmission delivers the ponies. Features and options include "Pony" luxury upholstery, rare factory air conditioning, Rally-Pac gauges, chrome styled steel wheels, fog lamps, a rear luggage rack, and power-assisted front disc, rear drum brakes. Maintenance work performed prior to our acquisition of the Mustang included installation of a new alternator, battery, clutch, and solid-state voltage regulator, refurbishment of the horn and power steering gear, and a recently completed oil and filter change.

Finished in its factory-correct colors and handsomely presented throughout, this 1966 ford Mustang GT Convertible is a very fine example of Ford's immensely successful and popular first-generation Mustang in all respects. Call us today and see it for yourself, obtain full details, and make it yours in time for the upcoming spring and summer show and driving seasons!
