This stunning example is finished in its rare and original color combination of a beautiful Opalescent Dark Green Exterior with a sharp and clean Tan Leather Interior. This car has had the benefit of one re-spray of the paint, and for the most part has its original interior which is in exceptional condition. This is a highly documented 1966 Jaguar XKE Series 1. Its many years of service records substantiate that the indicated 20,700 miles are original as well as provide incite to how meticulously maintained, even pampered, this fine automobile has been. The Jaguar E type, also known as the XK-E, brought style and performance together to create a mass-produced supercar. Its design was created by an aerodynamic engineer named Malcolm Sayer. This front engine, rear-wheel drive vehicle features a moncoque body and a tubular front chassis and is equipped with the 4.2 Liter, six-cylinder double-cam engine sporting three SU carburetors producing and impressive 265 horsepower in front of its original full syncro-mesh 4 Speed gearbox. The suspension is independent with disc brakes on all four wheels. In its day, it brought together the best of aerodynamics, coupled with the latest technology and propelled by a potent engine. The vehicle is not only fast, it offers excellent performance and handling. Along with the complete history of service records, the car includes the original Purchase Order from Jaguar Cars Inc in New York City, with their first and second choice of color, upholstery color and accessories added. We also have the Paid in Full receipt dated July 29, 1965, the MSO and notarized Bill of Sale dated September 1965. On November 18, 1965 it arrived via the ship SS GLOUCESTER CITY, also have a copy of bill for customs papers and port charges. Additional items include: A copy of the dealer service and delivery preparation document dated November 24,1965, the original owners manual, radio book, 1965 brochure, distributor book, the lubrication chart which is in excellent condition, maintenance vouchers and warranty book, all in the original pouch. This fine automobile also comes with full tool kit, jack, hammer and the passenger side foot rest. British Tax Disc, British Heritage Certificate.
