Rightly considered one of the most influential sports cars ever produced, Jaguars beautiful and potent E-Type debuted to widespread acclaim at Geneva in March 1961 and it was steadily updated, enhanced, and improved throughout its run. In addition to improved creature comforts soon following its debut, major updates by autumn 1964 included a displacement increase to 4.2 liters and a welcome switch to a smoother-shifting new full-synchromesh gearbox. Accompanied by a corresponding Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate listing original data, this highly desirable, late-production 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster features the winning looks and original purity of the first evolution of the series. An original left-hand drive Export model, it benefits from a limited roster of three owners from new all from the greater Chicago area. The first two owners were vice-presidents of McDonalds Corporation, followed by the current owner, who acquired the Jaguar in 1998. A concours-quality restoration was performed by JK Restorations, with the work completed in 2009. Featuring excellent Dark Blue paint over rich Tan leather upholstery, the XKE retains its matching numbers DOHC XK engine and a 4-speed manual gearbox. Additional features and options include an upgraded radiator and fan, AM/FM radio, power brakes, telescopic steering column, and proper knock-off wire wheels.
