From its landmark introduction at Geneva in March 1961, Jaguars E-Type, alternatively designated XKE in America, redefined the sports-car concept at once with its sensuous projectile-like bodywork, race-bred DOHC engine, stunning performance, and surprising affordability. Reputedly, it was even celebrated by Enzo Ferrari as the most beautiful car he had ever seen. Today, the XKE continues to rank as one of the worlds finest automotive designs and stands as one of few automobiles on permanent display at New Yorks famed Museum of Modern Art. Designed much like contemporary racing cars and built first and foremost to perform on the road, the XKE was highly adaptable to changing buyer demands and tightening government regulations throughout the 1960s, culminating in the comprehensively updated Series II models produced 1969-1970. Combining the basic styling of the earlier cars with many updates, the Series II cars provided a foretaste of the final Series II V-12 cars of 1972-74 and enjoy a growing collector and enthusiast following today.

This beautifully presented E-Type is one of the rarest of all models built throughout the 1961-75 production run, being 1 of just 4,855 Series II Fixed-Head Coupes (FHC) produced in all and 1 of only 2,392 produced for the 1969 model year. The current owner purchased the Jaguar out  of California in 2000 and in addition to a new black interior, it has been mechanically updated in many ways, including a preferred early-style intake setup with triple S.U. carburetors and a 5-speed gearbox that further unlocks the Jaguars drivability and performance. Additional upgrades for improved performance and reliability include the installation of an electronic ignition system, stainless steel exhaust headers and exhaust, and a Ron Davis alloy radiator. Suspension improvements include installation of new ball joints, bearings, and polyurethane bushings, uprated torsion bars and sway bar, billet steering-rack mounts, CJ shock absorbers, and the stopping power of Wilwood brakes equipped with stainless steel brake lines.

From 2004 through 2011, the Jaguar won a succession of Regional- and National-level awards under JCNA (Jaguar Clubs North America) judging and it also garnered awards in various concours d'Elegance. While a proven and consistent show winner, the owner gave the E-Type a bare-metal repaint during 2011 and during the winter of 2012, the Jaguars original matching numbers XK engine was removed, totally rebuilt with select performance upgrades, and reinstalled. As intended, this rare 1969 Jaguar XKE Fixed-Head Coupe continued its winning ways on the concours lawn, culminating in one of the ultimate achievements in Jaguar circles, JCNA 1st Place National Awards (Class D03) for 3 consecutive years in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Other recent accolades include the Peoples Choice Award at the 2013 Chicago British Car Festival and the Award of Excellence at the Milwaukee Concours dElegance earned back-to-back in 2016 and 2017. Further details of this rare and exceptionally presented, yet immensely drivable Series II 1969 Jaguar E-Type Fixed-Head Coupe are available on the excellent XKE Data website favored by marque enthusiasts and collectors. We are thrilled to offer this outstanding and very rare Jaguar and we feel you will see what we mean when you contact us today and experience it for yourself!
