This is an truly rare piece!! A 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, with only 1,394 ORIGINAL MILES!!!! These cars were only imported through the 1979 model year. The example here was one of the very last imported. It was built in January of 1980, as a 1979 model year, and was kept (not sold) by the owner of the dealership. The story goes, that he stored the car on the roof of the parts department, and after several years sold the dealership, and left the car there. It was discovered while the new owners of the dealer were cleaning, with 19 miles on the odometer. The car was originally sold in 1988 as a new car, with 20 miles on it. since then it has been driven VERY rarely, and been in a climate controlled storage facility. The car was taken out of storage last year, serviced, and driven for a few weeks, and also driven for a few weeks this year. The car drives just like it did when it was made in 1980. With only 1,394 miles, this car is absolutely as new! The convertible top is perfect, the seats, floors, paint, tires, everything. Because the car was stored properly, it has no deterioration whatsoever.
