ABSOLUTE SPORTS-CAR LEGEND

First shown in 1974 with production commencing in 1975, the 911-based 930 Turbo was an instant legend and as homologated by the FIA, it served as the foundation for much of Porsches international racing successes to follow during the next several decades. Imports to the United States began in 1976, but stiff emissions mandates forced Porsche to withdraw the 930 Turbo here from 1980 through 1985. Porsche brought the car now re-designated 911 Turbo back to America for 1986 and its triumphant return was the subject of countless articles and road tests. Addition of a catalytic converter with an oxygen sensor helped the 911 Turbo meet emissions standards and U.S.-spec power output rose to 282 horsepower. New 16X8 and 16X9 wheels and VR speed-rated tires provided added grip and a 4-speed manual rear transaxle delivered the power.

A select few buyers opted for the M505 Slant Nose Body Option, based on the front bodywork of Porsches victorious 935 racing cars. Available since 1981 via Porsches Sonderwnche Special Wishes program, the M505 factory option cost approximately $29,000 new and factory-built cars with this special feature, including this amazingly original, totally matching numbers 1987 911 Turbo Coupe, are extremely rare. In fact, according to Porsche authorities, this Porsche 911 Turbo is 1 of only 33 special-order, factory-built Code M505 Slant Nose cars delivered for 1987.

According to its Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, this 911 Turbo was completed by Porsche on May 21, 1987, finished in the rare combination of Black paint over Natural Brown Leather upholstery. Full service records from original owner forward are included! Both the paint finish and interior are confirmed original to the car and remain in outstanding condition. In addition to its extremely rare, factory-original Slant Nose Body Option, the Turbos original factory options are many, including a Steering Wheel w/ Raised Hub, Blaupunkt Reno radio, Limited Slip Differential, Lumbar Supports for both front seats, Alarm System, Electric Sunroof, and Goodyear Tires. Under 29,000 miles have been covered from new and the paint and interior remain original, as does the radio. Air conditioning provides comfortable drives in warmer weather conditions. In addition to the aforementioned Porsche Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, this extremely rare 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe also includes the factory tool kit, headlight tool kit, and factory-issued books/manuals. Offered in outstanding cosmetic and mechanical condition with low miles and incredibly original throughout, including the matching numbers engine, transaxle, factory paint finish, and interior, this extremely rare (1 of 33) 1987 Porsche 911 Slant Nose Turbo is a true sports-car legend, ready for the most demanding Porsche collector.
