Introduced at the 2001 North American Auto Show in Detroit, the Mazda RX-8 heralded a long-awaited return to the celebrated Japanese automakers rotary-powered sports/GT cars. Sadly, production ended in 2012, mainly due to high pricing resulting from the strength of the Japanese currency. Many versions of the RX-8 were produced, with major evolutions from 2003-29007 and 2008-2012.
